Dartoid Interviewed - True Tales from the 'Toid! The 'Toid Podcast! July 26, 2011
This week we interviewed a man who has proven many times over that this world is limitless to anyone who has the will and the desire to explore. He shows bravery in parts of the world less traveled and compassion to those in need. His passion for the sport of darts has given dart players the opportunity to follow such an extraordinary person who would normally fall under the radar. His outlandish stories, as depicted by Dartoid, often challenge the game as well as offer up humor to situations of unfavorable debate. He feeds two passions of mine, travel and darts. I tend to hunger more for the dramatics and with many of his columns, I couldn’t ask for anything more. Now don’t get me wrong, Dartoid does also have a more serious side when it counts. I encourage any of you with a strong sense of admiration for this game to go to www.dartoidsworld.com and read as many columns as you can stomach. You will certainly grasp what it is to be Dartoid and what this character means to Paul Seigel. Thank you for listening! Enjoy!
George Silberzahn interviews Dartoid (and me)! November 16, 2009 Column 381
I was recently interviewed by American darting legend and author (“How to Master the Sport of Darts” and “Darts: Beginning to End”), George Silberzahn. The full interview follows. It can also be found at George’s website and if you go there ("How to" Darts) you can also BUY one of his excellent books!
Take a moment and learn more about the birth and evolution of Dartoid (and me), how we got in darts, how we think, why we do what we do, and what we see for the sport in the years ahead...
Darts give Flint native another chance in CANUSA Games August 09, 2007 Sports Now Archives
Paul Seigel was a record-breaking swimmer in the CANUSA Games in the late 1960s, but he might be about to set another one this weekend in Hamilton, Ontario.
It's likely that no athlete has had a longer span between CANUSA appearances than Seigel.
Seigel last participated in CANUSA in 1974 when he helped Flint win two relays against the visitors from Hamilton in the annual competition between the cities.
He is making a return to the CANUSA stage for the 50th anniversary games this weekend as a member of Flint's darts team.
If I had ten minutes on television I’d score the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, hit the winning home run in the World Series, score the winning basket in the NBA finals, and knockout Mike Tyson. I’d spend the remaining nine glorious minutes wrestling the Miller Lite cat-fight babes.
Interviewed by Sherilyn Herkey at The Passionate Darter
Dartoid, AKA Paul Seigel, recently indulged me in answering some questions. Here they are!
What do you do for a living that allows you to travel the world in search of darts, the darters and the ultimate game? And do you need an assistant to carry your darts? (Hint, me, me, me!)
A Conversation with Marylou Seigel, the Woman Behind Avid Darter and Dart Writer Dartoid December 2005 The Passionate Darter
Interview of Mrs. Dartoid by Sherilyn Herkey at The Passionate Darter
It doesn't matter what the darter's native language is, all darters understand the lingo of darts, the meaning of a handshake and appreciate a good game. It's not only the sport that Paul is passionate about, but the people involved in playing and running the sport that fascinate Dartoid as well. While he spends so much time on the road playing darts and talking darts with the regular darters like myself, I have been curious to know what his wife thinks about his adventures. Love him or hate him, he's definitely got something to say about the dart world and his heart is in the right place. Here is an interview with Marylou Seigel, wife of Paul, AKA Dartoid:

Almost every time Paul Seigel ‑‑ or any other player, for that matter ‑‑ walks into a room to throw darts, the scene is familiar.
In a smoky room with dim lighting, Paul sets his beer on a sticky table and shakes his darts from a custom‑made "Bones" Hanson, ebony case, decorated with silver inlay.
Over the sounds of televised sportscasters and the knocking of billiard balls, Paul exchanges pleasantries with his opponents.
That's the moment when the scene becomes foreign to most other darters. As Paul offers a greeting in English his opponents say hello, or the equivalent, in Spanish, or Swahili or Chinese.

Who Really Is Dartoid?
As published in Bulls-Eye News Magazine December 1998, www.bullseyenews.com", by Jay Tomlinson
Have you ever seen the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? Its a classic. Remember the part where Butch and Sundance cant shake their trackers and they keep asking, Who are those guys? Well, thats the question that comes to mind time and again when I read Dartoids World. Who is this guy?
“(I) had 183 left and decided to plug a 3rd T20, just because. As I walked away (my opponent) said "That was a dumb" shot and then I walked up and nonchalantly stuck the S1, D1.” (El Commandante – 7/29/2010)
